{All Things Kale}

{Farmer's Markets/Whole Foods}

Usually I would be the first one to suggest that we go to a burger joint or somewhere where I can indulge in overly seasoned fried treats but the last few years have definitely changed my eating habits. As I get older I have noticed several of the following: my body doesn't react well to the foods I used to eat without inhibition, my energy level reflects what I consume, and most importantly- my personal vanity is more critical than ever so exercising and eating healthy is a lifestyle. With all these factors I started to do changes in my diet and find things I liked and didn't like. I would listen to my friends and see what trends or new things they were trying. Some of them are vegetarian, pescatarian, no-carb lovers, and others eat without worry. Within time I found one ingredient that I personally love and is amazing in almost everything: Kale. I use it in about everything from smoothies to stews. There are so many great recipes such as this smoothie,  snack, or even this amazing salad.

{Current Want}

Around this time of year is when I start scrambling for that perfect holiday dress that fits all my requirements: feminine, comfortable and festive to the occasion. To be honest- I was actually 'window' shopping online for future furniture pieces and stumbled across this little number on Anthropologie. Instead of the traditional and safe LBD- I thought this would be the perfect twist to the holiday dress. It is blue enough where it can almost be reminiscent of ice blue frost and the ruched details of the dress is forgiving for any results of a holiday sweet tooth.

{Healthy Obsessions- Chayote}

Organic Chayote from my Mom's Garden

I'm not one to constantly preach eating healthy, especially after posting the Pecan Bar guilty pleasure, but my newest current obsession is the Chayote. My bf and I are trying to incorporate new veggies and fruits to our meals but this one has been our latest adventure. Sure Vitamin C and great vascular benefits are a plus- but if you are a foodie, you should try it. I had to share- so let me know if there are any other 'non-average' veggies you would recommend.

{Current Craves}

Fresh and organic ingredients

Every once in awhile you have to indulge in treats that load you with guilt because it makes that next workout so much more motivating. The little "cheat treat" I decided to make was pecan bars by using this recipe. The recipe was actually quite easy to make and most of the ingredients I already had so it wasn't an insane amount of time spent on a grocery trip at all. The final destination ended at a dinner party where it accompanied homemade veggie chili and cornbread- a lovely southern inspired dinner plus treat. This is also a great dessert for any upcoming Thanksgiving, Holiday or Christmas party in our very near future!

{Current Want}

So lately I've been on this hunt for the perfect pair of leather pants. There are moments that I channel that inner Indie rocker in me and I feel the transformation would be complete with THE perfect pair. So I've tried a few on... they were ooooookay, not amazing but I could get by with them. Then I started to do a little browsing and what do you know? I found a pair that are not only super cute but a bit friendly to our furry friends. If this isn't down your alley, here are some other options that are just as amazing in an assorted price range: Isabel Marant, J Brand, and Obey. However, there is definitely one thing I would like everyone to keep in mind and that is to be weather conscious in these pants because if you are any sort of a pop culture guru then remember the scene with Ross Gellar (from Friends) and his leather pants

{Happy Halloween}

My Half Moon Bay Pumpkin

So many fun things to do when Halloween (one of my all time favorite holidays) rolls around. Also it's a holiday that marks how fast the year has gone by as well because next thing you know we have Thanksgiving and Christmas just around the corner. I guess I better start putting my Christmas List together soon! Happy Halloween everyone.

{Current Closet Obsession}

My Current Closet Obsession is my new leather purse that I had to secretly smuggle into my house in fear of "How many more do you REALLY need?". True, I use the same fringed Indian inspired leather hobo for my go-to bag, which gets shoved into my desk drawer, but having this sleek black leather bag with heavy chain artillery adds that extra something to my closet.
A little hardware never hurt anyone- Proenza Schouler, Cleobella, and Diane von Furstenburg get it!
